The Landfall Tradition
The 11th Annual Collegiate Golf Tournament
Thursday, October 25th - Sunday, October 28th, 2012
Supporting UNCW Scholarships and Golf Programs Since 2002
Cindy Ho, coach of the UNCW Women’s golf team has announced the field for this fall’s Landfall Tradition to be played on the Country Club of Landfall’s Nicklaus Course.
Heading the field is local favorite, Duke, currently ranked #9 by GolfWeek, followed by Georgia, ranked #10. Ten of the eighteen teams coming are ranked in the current top 30. That includes defending champion Purdue, who also won the 2010 NCAA Women’s Championship held at the Landfall Dye course.
The Landfall Tradition has become one of the top tournaments of the women’s golf season. This year’s field includes Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan State, Mississippi, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Virginia, Wake Forest, UNC Greensboro, and host team UNCW.
Actual play will be preceded on Thursday, October 25 with the popular College/Am tournament whose proceeds go to support the men’s and women’s golf scholarship program at UNCW. Since it’s beginning, the Landfall Tradition has raised over $200,000 for the scholarship program.
Including this year, 62 different universities and over 1100 players from 31 states will have competed in one or more of the 10 Landfall Traditions.
2012 Sponsors
Callaway Golf is our 2012 presenting sponsor. The Tradition is the only women’s college golf tournament that Callaway will sponsor in 2012.
Wells Fargo Private Bank will sponsor the popular Thursday night “Dinner of Champions” that honors all previous winners, current participants, and sponsors.
College-Am Tournament
The 3-day collegiate tournament will be preceded by a College-Am Tournament on Thursday, October 25th and capped off with a reception, Dinner of Champions, and an award ceremony. Foursomes are invited to attend this event and play a round with a team member from one of the participating schools.

Volunteer
No tournament of this size and quality can be successful without a strong volunteer base. This has been a key factor in the tournament’s success in the past.
Once again, we are looking for volunteers for the Fall tournament. We hope to welcome back volunteers from previous years but would like to extend the opportunity to anyone who may have an interest. Areas of need are diverse and schedules are flexible.
This is a fun yet important way to be a part of the tournament.
