FIELD SET FOR 13TH ANNUAL LANDFALL TRADITION
UNCW women’s golf coach Cindy Ho has announced another very strong field for the 13th annual Landfall Tradition. This year’s 18-team field comes from 12 states, represents 9 conferences, and boasts three top ten ranked teams and thirteen of the top 30 as of the May rankings. Leading the field are #3 ranked and 2014 NCAA Women’s Champion Duke, #8 South Carolina, and #9 ranked Arizona. In addition to our own UNCW Seahawks, local favorites coming include North Carolina, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, and Virginia. The Big Ten Conference has four representatives in Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, and Purdue. Rounding out the field are the 2013 Landfall Tradition Champion Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and Central Florida.
The 2013 Landfall Tradition three-day tournament will be held on the Country Club of Landfall Dye Course October 24th through the 26th. The annual College/Am tournament to raise monies for the UNCW golf scholarship fund will be held Thursday, October 23rd, the day preceding competitive play.
Since its inception in 2002, the Landfall Tradition has hosted teams from 62 universities, over 1200 players from 31 states, and has raised a quarter of a million dollars for the UNCW golf program. In addition, each year the Tradition provides a positive economic impact to the Wilmington area of approximately $250,000.
The Tradition has earned an outstanding national reputation as one of the finest women’s college golf tournaments with many teams returning year after year and others hoping for an invitation. Southern hospitality abounds, and the Landfall community embraces the annual event that is made possible with the help of over 300 volunteers from the Wilmington area.

No tournament of this size and quality can be successful without a strong volunteer base. This has been a key factor in the tournament’s success in the past.
Once again, we are looking for volunteers for the Fall tournament. We hope to welcome back volunteers from previous years but would like to extend the opportunity to anyone who may have an interest. Areas of need are diverse and schedules are flexible.
This is a fun yet important way to be a part of the tournament.
